Michelin launches its “Fill up with Air” 2008 Roadshow

posted on 21 August 2008

After a successful campaign in 2007, Michelin has kicked off its tyre pressure roadshow this summer at the Eurotunnel Terminal in Folkestone.

The nationwide campaign aims to educate motorists on the importance of the correct tyre pressures. And, as the summer get away is well upon us, there’s no better time to learn. In the same 2-day event at the Eurotunnel last year, the Michelin survey found that a staggering 83% of the tyres checked were underinflated and 63% were dangerously underinflated.

As the only contact between your car and the road, tyre pressure is an essential part of your cars safety. Underinflated tyres reduce grip and handling, weakens tyre structure and leaves you more prone to aquaplaning in wet weather.

And, as we become more eco-conscious it is good to remember that tyres with the correct pressure can reduce carbon footprint and also save you money on fuel and replacement tyres.
Motorists who visit the Fill up with Air roadshow will get the opportunity to get a free tyre safety check and advice on their tyres from Michelin technicians. Any cars found with underinflated tyres will be given a free fill-up.

If you’d like to find out if the roadshow is coming near you visit the Michelin website.
