Goodyear Presents Next Generation RunOnFlat Technology in Geneva

posted on 15 May 2008

Goodyear presented its new generation of RunOnFlat tyre technology in Geneva last month. The company says the latest improvements to the already popular technology will offer both the consumer and the environment numerous benefits.

With benefits including improved comfort, reduced mass and rolling resistance, increased fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions; its no surprise to see that the new technology is currently in the Original Equipment approval process.

Goodyear is also currently working on the development of an ultra-low rolling resistance RunOnFlat tyre with environmentally friendly materials. Working in close cooperation with Novamont the Italian research company and BMW, Goodyear aim to develop a new bio filler for use in tyres. This new filler will be made out of renewable resources and it is hoped to have a massive impact on the environment.
